If you haven’t noticed, I’ve recently taken a liking to products released by Lara Casey and Cultivate What Matters. I really like what she and the company stand for. They are unwavering in their faith and want to share it with everyone.

I started reading Make It Happen a bit ago and finally sat down to finish it this week. I have started using their PowerSheets so I thought finishing the book would be perfect to incorporate into it. I’ll share a review on those after I’ve used them for a bit. I just started this month! Back to the book – the book is about learning how to live your life on purpose. With purpose! Whatever that may be for you. Then learning how to set obtainable goals to make that happen.

Now you are probably thinking, “Why in the world would I want to read a book about goal setting?” The book is more than just about that. Lara tells her story of how she made it to where she is today. If you follow her on Instagram you will see her life is bright, colorful, full of love and faith. She writes about how that wasn’t always the case. She talks about an eating disorder, divorce, natural disaster, multiple career changes, a wedding that still surprises her, and most importantly how she and her husband became people of great faith.

2018 PowerSheets CollectionShe discusses how to break down goals into small obtainable steps. Think about the big picture then break it down. Break it down to steps that make sense. Not something you will fail at. I’ll use starting to eat healthy as an example. You wouldn’t just write down you want to eat healthy. You would break it down to something like create a meal plan, search Pinterest for healthy recipes, make a weekly grocery list, and get rid of the unhealthy foods in the house. You do it however you like, this was just a simple one to write out.

Some of the stuff written is probably things you know, but don’t really think about. It was for me. Sometimes reading it makes it sink in a bit more. Overall, I enjoyed the book. Mainly I really enjoy reading from someone that is not afraid to share what the Lord has done in their life.

Her new book Cultivate: A Grace-Filled Guide to Growing an Intentional Life will be released the end of this month. I’ve already preordered it after she released the first 3 chapters on her blog the other day. It just spoke to me and I’m not really sure why. This book was written in one of her darkest times and now she is sharing her heart about it.

Both books can be found on the Cultivate What Matters website or Amazon.
